All new Ford Endeavour could hit the Indian roads very soon and was snapped at a Ford service center.
The launch of the SUV was expected to happen by end of this year but seems like the American car maker has plans to launch the vehicle in 2016. An auto expo cannot be ruled out.
The Ford Endeavour will be offered in two engine options a 148 bhp 2.2-litre four-cylinder TDCI mill and a 197 bhp 3.2-litre five-cylinder TDCI diesel engine. The 2.2 diesel engine will be offered with a choice of 6 speed manual and 6 speed automatic transmission while the 3.2 will be offered with a 6-speed automatic gearbox only. All wheel drive option with Terrain management will be offered on the smaller 2.2 litre diesel engine with manual transmission.
The new Ford Endeavour will compete against the likes of Chevrolet Trailblazer, Toyota Fortuner and Mitsubishi Pajero Sport in the Indian market all these SUVs are built on ladder on frame and share their underpinnings wit pick-up trucks.The extended competition basket includes Ssangyong Rexton, Hyundai Santa Fe, Audi Q3 and Honda CR-V.
Ford may start accepting bookings for the new Endeavour and could also start the marketing and promotion activates. Ford India have made some details available on the Indian website which mentions details of features like – Semi Auto Parallel Park Assist, 7 seats, 3.2L TDCi diesel engine.
In terms of pricing the new Endeavour could start above Rs. 25 lakhs and go upto Rs. 30 lakhs for the top of the line 3.2 AT.
