Innova Crysta to kick start mark Innova’s second innings with a petrol engine, priced at Rs. 14.7 lakhs.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has started accepting bookings for the Innova Crysta petrol engine.
The 2.7 litre petrol engine on the Innova will be mated to either a 5 speed manual or 6 speed manual. We hope TKM offers both the option considering the popularity of petrol powered vehicles.
The company plans to launch the vehicle in August and delivers to commence immediately. Toyota Innova Crysta Petrol will start at Rs. 14.7 lakhs.
The MPV which was launched with 2 diesel engine options will now get a 3rd 2.7 litre petrol engine option and will help to tackle issues like the diesel ban.
The Innova Petrol will be available in GX, VX and ZX trims.
The 2.7 litre petrol four-cylinder mill has been indigenously developed by the R&D department in collaboration with Japanese engineers.
The new engine will be introduced in other international markets after its official launch in India.
Toyota has not been very lucky with the petrol engine when launched in Qualis and Innova, which forced the company to pull the variants due to low sales. With decreasing price gap between petrol and diesel and growing popularity of petrol vehicles could now script a different story altogether.
Toyota has already achieved a flying start with the Innova Crysta and has already a waiting period of 3-4 months. The top ZX variant has been one of the most popular despite the Rs. 25 lakhs price tag.
