Grand Cherokee, Grand Cherokee SRT & the Wrangler Unlimited to kick start Jeep operations in India.
Jeep first made an announcement to enter the Indian market in 2012 and since then the American brand kept postponing their plans due to various reasons.
Jeep made its intentions clear at the 2016 Auto Expo and after a lot of delays and plans which were put off, finally the Jeep brand has been given a green light to launch their products in India.
Jeep will be formally launched next month and initially begin its operations with six dealerships across India. The American brand will also introduce the Performance oriented SRT variants.
The American auto maker will bring the classic Wrangler Unlimited and Grand Cherokee in India as completely built up units.

Jeep will launch the Grand Cherokee in two standard variants Limited and Summit and a high performance SRT variant.
The Limited and Summit will be powered by a 3.0 Litre, V6 putting out 240bhp and mated to an 8 speed automatic gearbox, while the performance oriented SRT variant will use a large 6.4 litre Hemi V8 petrol motor which produces 475 bhp mated to an 8 speed automatic gearbox.
Noteworthy features on the SRT variant include Brembo high performance brakes, active suspension and a 19 speaker Harman Kardon Audio system.
The Wrangler Unlimited will feature a 2.8-litre diesel engine that produces 197bhp and 460Nm of torque.
Jeep’s upcoming third model Jeep C SUV (codenamed project 551) will be locally manufactured when it debuts next year at the company’s Ranjangaon plant. The company is testing the new SUV in India and there are rumours of the Renegade to also make its debut in the Indian market.
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) has announced its plan to invest roughly around $280 Million i.e. about 1,854 Crore in India to expand the Ranjangaon manufacturing plant near Pune for the assembly of Jeep models.
