Tata Motors has introduced the Indigo emax and Indica emax in 6 CNG markets in India. The company first showcased its emax range at the Horizonext event, held in Pune, in June 2013. The Nano emax was the first in the range launched in October. The Tata Indigo emax and the Tata Indicaemax have now been introduced in the emax series of CNG cars.
Two variants have been introduced in 6 markets across India and will now be available in Delhi, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and Tripura.
The new emax range is powered a petrol engine, with bi-fuel system options which allows the driver to quickly shift from Petrol to CNG and vice versa. The emax range delivers a mileage of 23.7 km/kg for Indica emax and 24.6 km/kg for Indigo emax and has a low carbon footprint of 0.251 g/km and 0.338 g/ km, respectively.
Tata Indigo emax
Based on the revamped Indigo, the Indigo emax is powered by a Petrol-CNG engine, which churns out upto 65 HP @ 5000 RPM, returning an amazing fuel efficiency figure of 24.6km/kg & an additional range of upto 230 kilometres (in CNG) over 650 km (in petrol).
The Tata Indigo emax price range starts at Rs. 4.99 Lakhs and goes uptoRs 5.27 Lakhs, ex-showroom Delhi,for the Indigo GLSandIndigo GLX, respectively.
Tata Indica emax
The Indica is also powered by the same emax technology and delivers a fuel efficiency of 23.7 km/kg & an additional range of 230 kilometres (in CNG) over 600 km (in petrol). The 1.2 Bi-fuel MPFI petrol engine develops 56PS @ 5200 RPM max power and 90NM@2650 Max Torque.
The Tata Indica emax price range starts at Rs.3.99 Lakhs and goes upto Rs. 4.26 Lakhs, ex-showroom Delhi, for the Tata Indica GLSand Tata Indica GLX, respectively.
Tata Motors has worst hit with the slowdown with sales and overall profit going down month on month. The company is working on a couple of new products and refreshes which are lined-up for 2014 and we could see them at the upcoming 2014 Auto Expo.
