Honda launched its most awaited 2nd generation Honda Amaze at an all-India introductory price of Rs.5.59 (All India Ex-showroom) for the base petrol variant. The 2018 Honda Amaze had generated a lot of buzz when it was first showcased in the Delhi Auto Expo earlier this year. It will lock horns with the segment leader Maruti Dzire along with other contenders like Hyundai Ascent, Ford Aspire and VW Ameo.
Built on an all new platform, the car offers a premium experience with its all new bold design, sophisticated & spacious interior, efficient powertrain, outstanding driving dynamics, advanced features and safety technologies.
The main highlight of this new compact sedan is the First-in-Industry Diesel CVT Technology that offers a powerful and effortless driving experience. It produces 80hp and 160Nm of torque with an ARAI rated fuel efficiency figure of 23.8kpl.
The car is also available with 90hp, 1.2-litre Petrol and 100hp, 1.5-litre Diesel engines that are mated to 5 speed manual gearboxes. The petrol variant too gets a CVT option that has been carried forward from the outgoing model.

This is the first time that Honda is using a CVT with a diesel engine. The CVT is highly compatible with the wide torque band of the diesel engine to offer fun and sporty driving. It also offers better, smoother, and more linear acceleration and greater shift control.
