FIAT is all set to launch its third product in the Indian market, the all new Avventura. The Avventura concept made its global premiere at the 2014 Auto Expo. India’s first Contemporary Urban Vehicle (CUV) the Avventura will be launched officially on the 21st of October.
The Avventura is based on the Punto Evo, but is a totally different vehicle with high ground clearance of 205mm, 16-inch rims, spare wheel mounted on the rear, functional roof rails and high terrain gauges. On the outside the CUV does borrow the headlamps from Punto the front looks a lot more bold and aggressive with an all new front bumper with large air dams and fog lamps housing.
From the side the high ground clearance and spare wheel is quite visible. Side cladding and wheel arches add to crossover look.
On the rear the Avventura comes with an externally mounted spare with a special mechanism to open the rear hatch. You first need to pull the spare wheel mounted door and then open the hatch door conventionally. Overall the styling is contemporary and distinctive, which will certainly make you stand apart.
The Avventura will be available in three trims – Active, Dynamic and Emotion. Powertrains include 90 Ps 1.4-litre FIRE petrol engine and 93 Ps 1.3 Multijet diesel engine.
The FIAT Avventura will compete with the likes of Ford Ecosport, Volkswagen Cross Polo and the Toyota Etios Cross.
