Bajaj has launched the Dominar 400 at a very aggressive price of Rs. 1.36 lakhs for the standard variant and Rs. 1.50 lakhs for the ABS trim (both ex-showroom, Delhi). The Bajaj Dominar 400 is mainly targeted to new affluent youth bikers who prefer a fast bike which has good cruising capabilities to do their long rides.
The Bajaj Dominar 400 will be the flagship brand of Bajaj Auto and will be initially sold via 80 showrooms across 20 cities in India. The Pan India launch will happen after a couple of months. The bike will be available for test rides at the select dealerships and will also be on display.
The company has commenced online bookings and deliveries will begin in January 2017.
The Bajaj Dominar 400 is powered by a 373.3 cc single cylinder, triple spark, 4 valve DTS-i engine mated to a 6 speed gearbox. The engine produces max 35 PS of power at 8,000 rpm and 35 Nm of peak torque at 6,500 rpm. Bajaj has carried over the engine from KTM Duke 390 and will be assisted by a slipper clutch.
The bike measures 2,156 mm in length, 813 mm in width and 1,112 mm in height. The wheelbase is 1,453 mm and the bike has a ground clearance of 157 mm. The fuel tank can carry 13 litres of fuel.
The Dominar 400 is the first bike to be offered with full LED mosaic headlamps with balanced white light and vertical AHO (Auto Headlamps On).
The bike gets dual disc brakes with a 320 mm front disc unit while the rear gets 230 mm. Twin channel ABS optional.
The front tyre has a 110/70 profile and wider 150/60 section in the rear both with 17 inch rims.
Color options include Midnight Blue, twilight Plum and Moon White paint schemes.
