Bajaj to launch BS IV across entire line-up in 2017.
Bajaj Auto has stopped production of the popular Pulsar AS Series. The dealers have stopped receiving the Pulsar AS 150 & Pulsar AS 200 and sale has been temporarily suspended.
The company will be launching BS IV variants of the motorcycles and may also get some cosmetic changes. We guess they will be limited to new decals only.
The Pulsar AS 150 is powered by the 149.5 cc DTS-i twin-spark engine and delivers 17 PS at 9,500 rpm and 13 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed transmission.
While the Pulsar AS 200 packs bigger and modern engine which is also shared with KTM. The 199.5 cc DTS-i triple-spark engine develops 23.5 PS at 9,500 rpm and 18.3 Nm of torque at 8,000 rpm. Transmission duty is done by 6-speed.
The Bajaj Pulsar AS 150 & AS 200 is available in Red, Blue and Black colours. The AS150 is priced at INR 81,230 (ex-showroom Delhi) and AS200 is priced at INR 94,780 (ex-showroom Delhi).
Both the bikes feature Projector headlamp, perimeter frame, Nitrox Mono Suspension, 4 valves DTS-I engine. The AS200 comes with liquid cooling and triple spark technology. Disc brakes standard both at front & rear for the 200 variant while the AS150 gets single front disc only.
Bajaj in the past has launched many bikes and soon discontinued them from the market if the motorcycle does not do good number. This leaves the customer in agony and results in poor after sales as many a times there are no parts.
The Bajaj Pulsar AS (Adventure Sport) series will be launched with upgraded engines by end December or early January 2017.
