Tata Motors is going to launch the all-new Zest in August. A convoy of Blue and Silver colour Zest’s were spotted in Goa by our reader Hercules. The cars looked production ready and bear minimal changes compared to the car unveiled at the Auto Expo.
From our sources, we have learnt the Zest will be powered a new 1.2T Turbo petrol Revotron engine with Multi-Drive mode and the tried and test 1.3 Quadrajet diesel engine. Transmission option on the diesel includes the new Automatic Manual Transmission (AMT) and a 5 speed manual gearbox. The Zest with AMT will be the first car to be offered with a Sport mode and will also make it most affordable diesel automatic car in India.
The car does a look a lot more stunning compared to the competition cars like the Dzire, Amaze and the Xcent. The car will also offer projector headlamps with DRL’s and Light ring guides similar to the corona rings found on the BMW’s. The Zest comes with a 390 litres boot and the LED tail lamps further accentuate the looks. The car will be available with different 15” alloy wheels option.
On the inside the new dual tone dash gives the car a premium appeal and design seems to be very modern compared to traditional designs found in Tata cars. The wide Rugby shoulder seats offer high comfort.
The Zest will be available in multiple trims and top variant will get features like 5” touch screen, Harman entertainment system, voice command, SMS readout and many more segment first features.
