German luxury car maker Mercedes-Benz is going to launch the new facelifted A-Class on the 8th of December in India. The A-Class based on the MFA platform was introduced in May 2013 and got an update in Jan 2015 with a new Audio 20 CD multimedia system which boasts a 14.7 cms diagonal screen TFT colour display and has integral CD drive which plays both MP3 and WMA/AAC.
The A-Class which is one of the best looking luxury hatchback gets subtle updates making it even good looking and sporty.
The changes on the new A-Class are – new arrow-shaped front bumper, new LED High Performance headlamp, newly designed rear lights with exhaust tailpipes integrated into the bumper. On the inside the car gets igh-quality dial graphics and galvanised switches, large, free-standing and frameless display of the head unit, with a larger screen diagonal of 20.3 cm (8 inches).
The A-Class was the second product introduced in India after B-Class which received an update in January 2015.
The new Mercedes-Benz A-Class will continue to be powered by the same set of engines. A 180 petrol engine which produces max power of 90 kW [122 hp] @ 5000 rpm and torque of 200 Nm @ 1250 – 4000. The diesel engine A 200 CDI was updated early this year which develops 100 kW [136 hp] @ 3600 – 4400 rpm. Both the engines are paired to a 7G-DCT dual clutch transmission.
The A-Class is the first Mercedes-Benz model to be available with comprehensive smartphone integration which includes infotainment systems like Apple® CarPlay® (for iPhone® owners) and MirrorLink®.
Prices could be revised and could be priced at a premium over the outgoing model.
