FIAT Avventura Urban Cross to be positioned as premium crossover
Italian car maker will put the Avventura Urban Cross into production and will launch the vehicle in the Indian market before the festive season.
FIAT unveiled the Avventura Urban Cross concept at Auto Expo 2016 and also hinted of the vehicle to be launched this year. The Avventura Urban Cross is based on the FIAT Avventura minus the cladding, spare wheel and rugged look embellishments.
The Urban Cross looks premium and comes equipped with features such as the touch screen audio with Bluetooth, Auxiliary unit along with navigation. Interiors are Dual tone with plush and comfortable seats. The Urban Cross will feature High terrain gauges like compass and inclinometer similar to the Avventura.

The FIAT Avventura Urban Cross has similar dimensions to the Avventura and measures 4,000 mm in length, 1,700 mm in width and 1,500 mm in height.
Urban Cross to be powered by Abarth 1.4 T-Jet turbocharged engine
The Avventura Urban Cross will be powered by the Abarth motor which does duty on the Avventura Powered by Abarth. The 1.4-litre T-Jet turbocharged petrol engine delivers 140 PS (138.03 hp) at 5,500 rpm and 210 Nm of torque at 2,000-4,000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.
The Avventura Urban Cross will be positioned above the Avventura and will compete with the likes of Ford EcoSport and Maruti Suzuki Brezza.
FIAT’s range of products is ageing and the current portfolio are nearing end of life cycle. The company needs some new and made for India products to establish themselves in the Indian market.
