Honda Navi a made for India moped has caught fancy amongst the youth.
Honda Motorcycle Scooter India has seen a very successful 2016 so far. The company’s start product the Honda Activa has displaced Hero Splendor and is now the highest selling two-wheeler in the Indian market.
This year also saw the launch of the new Navi automatic moped with teasers starting right from 1st Jan – Happy Navi Year. The suspense was broken when HMSI unveiled the little wonder at the 2016 Auto Expo.
Honda Navi has been selling decent numbers and the scooter also made it to the top 10 in the September selling just above 10,000 units a month.
Buoyed with the success, Honda plans to double to production of the Navi moped to 1 lakh units.
The least priced two-wheeler from Honda at Rs. 40,000 was showcased in several custom variants which could be the next big step for the company to offer customised kits.
The company which had low expectation from the moped had forecasted about 2000 units per month. HMSI has also begun shipping the moped outside India in SAARC countries and may also export to ASEAN countries if demand does exist.
We loved the concept of Navi – small, light, automatic and funky looking. Powered by a 110cc engine with Honda Eco Technology (HET), delivers a max power of 5.84 kW @ 7000 rpm and max torque of 8.96 Nm @ 5500 rpm.
The moped comes with a choice of 5 colors and basic customisation options.
We hope Honda launches the customization kits the company showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo.
