Hyundai Creta has just crossed a new milestone with bookings crossing record 1 lakh. The Creta became an instant hit from day 1 since launch and has been able to sell more than 56,000 units in the Indian market. The SUV has received 5 lakh enquiries and won about 26 awards in 8 months of launch.
The Creta has also generated very good response in international markets with more than 28,000 orders. Hyundai has responded quickly to the customer demand and has increased output by 30% to total production of 13,000 units. Of this the company plans to sell 10,000 units in India and rest 3000 units will be shipped to export markets.
Hyundai has also taken a preventive measure considering the launch of Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza which could compete with the lower priced variants and customers may consider the new SUV due to the huge waiting period of Creta.

The Creta is available in three engine options – 1.6 Gamma Dual VTVT, 1.6 U2 CRDi VGT, 1.4 U2 CRDi –tuned for best performance and fuel efficiency. Based on Hyundai Motor’s evolved Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 Design philosophy the SUV is offered in 10 variants.
he 1.6-litre Dual VTVT petrol engine delivers 123 PS and 151 Nm of torque, and is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. The 1.4-litre CRDi develops 90 PS and 220 Nm of torque, and also gets a 6-speed manual. The 1.6-litre CRDi VGT though produces 128 PS and 259 Nm of torque, and is available with 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions.
