Hyundai India has silently introduced the Eon entry hatchback with a new Sports edition model. The new Eon Sports edition model comes with three additional features and is based on the Era+ and Magna+ trim levels.
The Eon Sports Edition comes with a 6.2-inch unit with Phone Link, and offers smartphone-based navigation similar to options currently available on competition cars. The car gets Front door speakers (2) only. Aux-in Port and USB Port are standard.
Hyundai seems to have taken some time to react to market changes. Renault Kwid was the first model to offer touch screen infotainment in an entry car which is one of the key USPs besides the SUV design.
Other features on the Eon Sports Edition are side body moulding graphics and sporty roof rails.
The Hyundai Eon is available in six trims namely D-Lite, D-Lite+, Era+, Magna+, Sportz+ and Magna+ (O) (O) trim levels. Engine options include 800cc and 1000cc. The Sports Edition is avaialble with 800cc engine only.
The Hyundai Eon Sports edition is available only in Polar White colour.
Key features available on Eon entry hatchback are- Keyless entry, Driver airbag, Front Fog Lamps and Front power windows.
Hyundai is working on the next generation Santro which is likely to be launched next year and could replace the Eon 1000c and also plug in the gap between Grand i10 and Eon.
