Honda launched the new City in the first week of January and even before the car makes any dent into the Verna sales; Hyundai already has its plan ready and will soon introduce a new CX variant which will offer the customers more choice.
The CX variant will be available only the 1.4 diesel engine and will be positioned between the EX and SX variants.
The new CX variant will be equipped with comfort features like automatic climate control, electrically adjustable and foldable wing mirrors with turn indicators, two-DIN audio system with Bluetooth compatibility, steering-mounted audio controls, electro-chromatic rear view mirror, rear parking sensors with camera, ABS and driver-side airbag.
The move is clearly to compete with the Honda City diesel which is now available a 1.5L i-DTEC diesel engine with a mileage of 26 km/litre and max power output of 100PS@3600rpm. Verna’s 1.4 diesel mill produces max power of 90Ps / 4000 rpm and max torque of 220 and delivers a mileage of 23.5 kmpl.
In December, Hyundai also launched the upgraded Verna with new features like Projector headlamps, Safety escort headlamps, Position lamps, Automatic headlight control, Front airbags, 16” diamond cut alloy wheels, New re-designed smart key & Illuminated power window switch (all 4).
