Hyundai has updated the Elite i20 with new features and safety upgrades.The updated Elite i20 sports new projector headlamps with cornering lamps and LED day time running lamps which are now offered as standard on the top end Asta (O) variant.
Hyundai has also added a driver airbag as standard through the range, while the front passengers benefit from passenger airbag from the variants above Sportz trim. Hyundai had earlier updated the i20 top end Asta (O) variant with a 7.0 inch Audio, Video Navigation system, while the lower grades gets a music system with an LCD display. Bluetooth telephony continues to be offered as standard on the Magna and above variants.

Mechanicals are the same as before, with a 1.2 litre VTVT petrol Kappa engine producing maximum power of 83 Ps at 6,000 rpm and a torque output of 11.7 kg·m mated to a 5 speed manual transmission.
The diesel motor is a 1.4 litre U2 CRDI Diesel produces 90 ps at 4,000 rpm, torque output of 22.4 kg·m mated to a 6 speed manual transmission.
The 2016 Elite i20 model will be showcased at the Auto Expo 2016 on 3rd February.
The Elite i20 still misses on an auto gear box which is offered on the competitors like Maruti Baleno, Honda Jazz and the Volkswagen Polo. The Elite i20 has been recently toppled by Maruti Baleno to take the pole position on the sales chart. The updated i20 with small revision in price could help the car get back its position.
