Ford India pulled the wraps and has confirmed the launch of the icon, Mustang in the Indian market. The American car maker will bring the Mustang GT in mid 2016 which sets new performance and dynamics benchmark.
With the Mustang Ford offers a diversified portfolio with the Figo hatch, Figo Aspire compact sedan, Fiesta mid-size sedan, newly launched Endeavour SUV and high performance coupe Mustang.
Debuting ahead of the Delhi Auto Expo 2016 and the Mustang will bring the world-class performance and refinement of Ford’s iconic pony car to India’s roads.
Since the Mustang first went on sale in 1964, Ford has sold more than 9 million vehicles. It has made thousands of appearances in film, television, music and video games and is the world’s most-liked vehicle on Facebook.
The new Mustang evokes the essential character of the brand, retaining key design elements – including the long sculpted hood and short rear deck – with contemporary execution. A lower, wider stance with a reduction in roof height, and wider rear fenders and track are the key design features that define the new Mustang.
Inside, drivers will find information and controls all readily accessible in the aviation-inspired cockpit, which is executed with the highest degree of craftsmanship ever found in a Mustang. A large, high-definition display screen puts vehicle information right in front of the driver in the roomier cabin while improved ergonomics and tactile switches and knobs provide better control.
The new Ford Mustang comes equipped with the latest edition 5.0-liter V8, now featuring an upgraded valve-train and cylinder heads that yield more than 420 horsepower and 529 Nm of torque.
The Mustang is packed with a range of smart technologies providing drivers with enhanced information, control, and connectivity when they want it.
It also gets Ford’s award-winning SYNC connectivity system allows drivers to control their in-car entertainment using voice commands, keeping their hands on the wheel and eyes on the road. Premium features like navigation, push button start, passive entry, power folding mirrors, and a rear camera are standard on the all-new Mustang to enhance the driving experience.
The high performance car gets 5 Selectable Drive Modes (SDM), which allow to toggle easily between normal, snow/wet, sport and track modes to quickly adjust steering effort, engine response, and transmission and electronic stability control settings.

Ford has not announced the price of the car but we can expect the Mustang to be priced upwards Rs. 80 lakhs.
