Isuzu D-Max single cab 4×4 to create a new segment.
Isuzu Motors unveiled introduced India’s 1st “Adventure Utility Vehicle” D-Max V-Cross at Auto Expo 2016 and the company formally introduced the vehicle in a couple of months.
Isuzu which has tasted some success with the D-Max V-Cross Adventure Utility Vehicle now plans to launch the D-Max single cab in 4×4 variant.
The Japanese auto maker showcased a concept of the D-Max single cab 4×4 variant at the India 4×4 week in Goa.
The D-Max single cab 4×4 showcased at the event was a heavily modified D-Max with a custom built 4×4 front bumper by ARB, LED Spot driving front fog lights, LED Flood Spot Combo Driving Fog Light, all terrain Bighorn Maxxis tyres, custom graphics and custom built load body.
The interiors of the single cab are black in color unlike the beige offered on the V-Cross and comes with basic features like air-conditioning, integrated head rest in front seats, slot for 1 DIN audio system and manually operated power windows.
The D-Max single cab 4×4 will be powered by a 134 hp, BSIV compliant, high pressure Common Rail Fuel Injection Diesel Engine, mated to a robust 5 speed Manual Transmission that delivers a maximum torque level of 320 Nm @ 1800-2800 rpm.
The single cab 4×4 is equipped witah shift-on-fly 4WD drive mode similar to D-MAX V-Cross. The pick-up truck also gets High Ride suspension that offers higher ground clearance, wider track with longer wheel base. The chassis frame is designed with a new iGRIP feature (Isuzu Gravity Response Intelligent Platform) ensures greater stability even at hi-speeds and sharp curves.
Launch date and price
The company plans to the launch the vehicle in a couple of months and will target hilly and tough terrains.
The vehicle is targeted towards customers who want a more powerful and durable vehicle with 4×4 capabilities in terrains like snow, slush and hilly areas.
According to the company officials the vehicle will be priced in the range of Rs. 9-10 lakhs and will create a segment of its own.
