Jeep announced the prices of Compass SUV on the 31st of July with a very aggressive pricing starting at Rs.14.95 lakhs for the petrol engine and Rs. 15.45 Lakhs for the base diesel.
FCA India President and Managing Director Mr. Kevin Flynn also announced the Jeep Compass has got very good response with over 5000 bookings across 60 FCA dealers and Jeep destination stores.
The response is high for 4×2 diesel followed by the 4×4 diesel and petrol automatic. The petrol manual has got low response, which is quite expected in this segment.
The Compass SUV managed to register 100 bookings in 3 days of bookings being opened has crossed over 5000 in 40 days. The bookings for the Jeep Compass opened on June 20 for a token amount of INR 50,000.
The SUV is available with 2.0-litre Multijet Turbo-diesel and 1.4-litre Multi-Air Petrol. The Diesel model is offered with 6-speed manual transmission and Petrol with 6-speed manual as well as a 7-speed automatic transmission.
Packed with 50+ safety and security features, 30+ premium features and 20+ pioneering technologies, the Jeep® Compass is manufactured in FCA’s Joint Venture manufacturing facility in Ranjangaon, near Pune, and is made of 65% locally sourced components.
Commenting on the launch and price announcement, Kevin Flynn – President and Managing Director, FCA India said,
“Due to the overwhelming public response to the Jeep® Compass, coupled with a significant number of pre-bookings and enquiries we decided to advance the price announcement so that potential customers can finalize their purchase decisions. We will start retails on August 6, 2017. Analyzing our pre-bookings data it has made sense for us to prioritize the deliveries of diesel manual transmission variants. We will deliver petrol automatic transmission variants closer to Diwali.”
