Jeep Compass to launch in August, ahead of festive season.
The Jeep Compass is one of the most awaited launches in 2017 as it will be the first affordable Jeep targeted to the masses. The SUV was first unveiled to the media in April and the media drives are just over.
A few dealerships will start displaying the SUV ahead of the launch in August and bookings for the same have commenced.
The SUV’s brochure has been leaked via images shared by Team-BHP forum. At the launch the SUV will be launched with a diesel & petrol engine mated to a manual transmission. FCA had announced the Compass would be avaialble in petrol & diesel engines with both manual and automatic and a choice of 4×2 and 4×4 drivetrains.
The Compass SUV will be available in 3 trims – Sport, Longitude and Limited and two optional trims Longitude (O) and Limited (O).
Trims
The base Sport grade will be available with both petrol & diesel mated to a 6 speed manual gear box and features 16-inch steel wheels, halogen headlamps, electrically adjustable and foldable mirrors, all-black interior, electric parking brake, 5.0-inch U- Connect touchscreen infotainment system, front airbags, Electronic Stability Control, Traction Control, ABS with EBD and four disc brakes.
The Longitude will available with a diesel engine only. The trim comes with all features available on the Sport in addition to 17-inch alloy wheels, Beige and Black interior, front & rear fog lamps, keyless Go, push button start, and rear parking sensors.
The Longitude (O) features projector headlamps, roof rails, rear parcel shelf, a larger 7-inch U-Connect touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and dual-zone climate control.
The Jeep Compass Limited brings LED tail lamps, door scuff plates, Ski Grey interior, leather steering wheel, leather seats and a rear-view camera. Limited (O) sub-grade adds HID headlamps and black roof. Engine options include 1.4-litre petrol and 2.0-litre diesel.
The Limited trim will be available in both petrol & diesel engines and gets more equipment such as LED tail lamps, Rear camera, leather seats, leather steering wheel, door scuff plates, Select Terrain with 4×4, AWD transmission with 4×4, front side & curtain airbags on the 4×4 and SKI grey interiors.
The Limited (O) gets additional 2 features – HID head lamps and Black painted roof.
Jeep Compass colours
The SUV will be available in 5 color options – Vocal White, Hydro Blue, Brilliant Blue, Minimal Grey and Exotica Red.
Engines & Transmission
The Jeep Compass 1.4-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine produces 160 hp and 250 Nm of torque. Transmission choices for this engine include 6-speed manual and 7-speed DDCT dual-clutch automatic.
The 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine produces 172 PS (169.58 hp) at 3,750 rpm and 350 Nm of torque between 1,750 rpm – 2,500 rpm. A 6-speed manual transmission is standard.
The Jeep Compass launch will take place in August 2017, with prices starting at around Rs. 18-25 lakh (ex-showroom).
