The King of offroading Land Rover is all set to blaze the Indian market with the all new Discovery Sport in Indian market. Land Rover will launch the new Discovery Sport on September 2nd 2015 and have started accepting bookings at all authorised Land Rover retail outlets.
The new Discovery Sport is the next generation of compact SUV from Land Rover designed with advanced technologies and many segment leading features such as optional 5+2 versatile seating option, 9-Speed Automatic Transmission, Terrain Response, Park Assist, Day Time Running Lamp (DRL), Terrain Response (inc Eco Mode) – 4WD ONLY, Hill Descent Control (HDC) – 4WD ONLY, Efficient Driveline – 4WD ONLY, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Traction Control (ETC), Electric Power Assisted Steering (EPAS), Hill Start Assist, Roll Stability Control (RSC), Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), Trailer Stability Assist (TSA), Push Button Start and many more.
Interiors will get Ebony Paint finish on Door Grabs, Door Finisher C, Centre Stack Verticals and Tamber Lid – Gloss Black Finish.
Multimedia includes Five inch Colour TFT Driver Information Centre, Eight inch Colour Touch-screen – Infotainment with Eco Data and Eco Mode.
The Discover Sport is powered by a 2.2 Litre Diesel which develops 110 Kw max power and 400 Nm of torque. India will get the Four Wheel Drive (4WD) with a Nine-speed transmission option as standard.
The Discovery Sport will replace the Freelander 2 SUV which is currently the entry SUV in the Indian model. The SUV could be launched as a CBU initially and as demand picks-up the company may consider local assembly.
