Mahindra, a leader in the Utility Vehicle segment today launched a new Compact SUV – the NuvoSport with a price tag of Rs.7.35 lac (ex-showroom, Thane). With the arrival of the NuvoSport, Mahindra will now offer a UV for every budget in the Rs.5 lac to 15 lac category. The Mahindra stable comprises of the KUV100, NuvoSport, Quanto, TUV300, Bolero, Xylo, Thar, Scorpio and XUV500 – the largest UV range on offer by any Indian automobile manufacturer.
# # # EXTERIOR STYLING # # #
The NuvoSport is based on the same platform as the new gen Scorpio. It looks bold and sporty and is aimed at those who seek an active lifestyle. The fascia looks imposing with a bold front grille, high mounted trendy DRLs, a sporty bonnet scoop and dual tone bumpers. The profile is alike the Quanto but boasts of a neatly designed side- cladding, imposing wheel arches and sporty 16 inch alloy wheels to accentuate its SUV character. The top variants get blacked-out B & C pillars which add to the style quotient. The rear gets a sporty spoiler, chrome garnished side indicators and a tail mounted spare wheel. The NuvoSport is available in 6 shades of Molten Red, Rust Orange, Diamond White, Regal Blue, Mist Silver and Fiery Black.
# # # INTERIOR COMFORT & CONVENIENCE # # #
The NuvoSport is a 5+2 seater and its cabin is graced with a dual-tone Black & Grey interior which looks upmarket. The top variants also get plush faux leather upholstery. The driver gets height adjustable seat with lumbar support, steering mounted audio and phone controls, electrically adjustable wing mirrors, driver and co-driver adjustable armrests, a 6.2 inch touch-screen infotainment unit borrowed from its range topping Rexton, sporty aluminium pedals and multiple storage spaces for cups, bottles and magazines.
Other interesting features include the 60:40 foldable second row seats that recline for added comfort on long drives. They also flip and fold down completely to increase the cargo area if the need arises. The jump seats in the 3rd row are best suited for kids.
The boot capacity is 412 litres which can be further increased by folding the 2nd row seats.

The NuvoSport is equipped with a light weight 1.5L mHawk diesel engine that produces 100 bhp and 240 Nm of torque. The comfort suspension and anti-roll technologies promise to offer an excellent ride.

The NuvoSport gets an optional auto-SHIFT (Automated Manual Transmission). It also gets ECO/Power mode, Micro-Hybrid technology, Cruise Control, Intellipark Reverse Assist, etc.

Safety features like Dual airbags and ABS with EBD are standard from mid-variant onwards and is also available as an option on the base variant. It also gets side intrusion beams, speed sensing auto door lock, daytime running lights, anti-theft digital immobilizer with encrypted key recognition system.
