Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 has been another successful model for India’s largest car maker helping the Alto brand cross the 20K sales milestone montly. Ever since the Alto K10 made its debut, the car has been selling in decent numbers around 5-6k per month.
The Alto K10 will receive its major update since its launch four year back, with a new face, fresh interiors and a new gear box. The front end has been inspired from the newly launched Celerio and Alto 800. Chrome grille with a large Suzuki badge in center, new design bumper and headlamps. The side profile draws inspiration from the Alto 800’s unique Wavefront design and sloping window lines with a swaying roof. The tail lamps design is similar to the Alto 800, but more elegant. There are no pics of the interior but we are certain the new Alto K10 will share its design with the Alto 800.
Power will come from the 1.0 K-Next engine with drive by wire technology, optimized compression ratio, reduced frictional losses, low viscosity engine oil and re-designed valves and springs mated to a five speed gear box. Maruti Suzuki will equip the Alto K10 with EZ technology. This will be the second model after Celerio to get the AMT transmission.
The Alto K10 will also be available with a CNG fuel option with i-GPI technology from day 1. The car will be available with 3 engine options LXi, LXi+ and VXi. The top variant VXi will come with audio system, wheel covers, body colored ORVMs, front power windows and front fog lamps.
The K10 is currently priced at Rs. 3.18 lakhs for the base LXi and Rs. 3.31 lakhs for VXi variant. Prices of the new Alto K10 could be bumped by a few thousand.
Maruti Suzuki is going to storm the festive season with a number of launches. The big launch will be the new Ciaz sedan, followed by the Alto K10 facelift, the Swift facelift/upgrade and the Swift Dzire facelift.
