Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch the all new S-Cross SUV in the Indian market on the 5th of August. The new S-Cross will be sold exclusively in the new NEXA dealership set-up. Maruti is targeting around 40 NEXA dealerships which covers more than 80% of the premium markets.
The S-Cross will be the first product to be positioned as a premium crossover to take on the likes of Renault Duster, Nissan Terrano, Hyundai Creta and Ford EcoSport which are currently the main players in the urban SUV segment.
The S-Cross will be available in a choice of two diesel engines and no petrol engine. The DDiS 200 1.3 diesel engine develops 90 PS of power and 200Nm of torque with a high fuel efficiency of 23.65 kmpl. The DDiS 320 1.6 diesel engine develops 120 PS of power and 320Nm of torque with a fuel efficiency of 22.70 kmpl.
The S-Cross will be available in five exterior body colours – Urban Blue, Caffeine Brown, Granite Grey, Premium Silver and Pearl Arctic White.
For the first time Maruti Suzuki will follow a different variant naming nomenclature from the traditional LX, LXi, VXi etc.
