Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch the Wagon R Stingray in the Indian market. The car was caught during a photoshoot and seems like it will be introduced just before the festive.
The Wagon R Stingray will be positioned above the current Wagon R and below the Ritz hatch. The Wagon R brand is the fourth bestselling for the Indian car maker and hopes to further increase sales with the new edition.
There are no concrete details on the tech specs, but we can assume the car will get the same 1.0 K-Series engine which does duty on the current Wagon R. The exterior highlights include projector headlamps, large chrome grille, sportier bumper and crystal taillamps. On the inside the car gets black interiors with a blue instrument console.
The Stingray will be priced at a premium of Rs. 30-50,000 above the current Wagon R and will be offered with more features. The Japanese variant offered with auto climate control, navigation, ESP, eco-meter, steering controls, keyless entry with start stop button but these high end features may not be offered in India.
With the launch of the Stingray, Maruti will most probably discontinue the Estilo and we could also expect the A-Star to say a bid adieu.
