Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 AMG Coupé makes India debut, starting 2016 on a high note
German luxury car maker, Mercedes-Benz India launched its first Performance SUV Coupé GLE 450 AMG Coupé. The GLE Coupé based on the GLE Class SUV combines the sleekness of a Coupé and versatility of an SUV.
Mercedes-Benz which had a very successful 2015 with selling more than 13,000 units in a single and also retaining the number position in the Premium luxury car market which the company had lost to its German rivals.
The GLE 450 AMG Coupé’s brute performance comes from an AMG enhanced 3-litre V6 bi-turbo engine producing 270 kW (367hp) and a torque of 520 Nm. The performance Coupé has a very peppy acceleration and takes a mere 5.7 seconds to sprint 0-100 km/h. The engine is coupled to a new 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission
The Coupé boasts of Five AMG Dynamic Select transmission modes including ‘Sport Plus’ and suspension designed for high driving force.
Infotainment comes through the COMAND Online system, where the driver can control and display navigation, telephone, audio, video, and internet functions, in turn, giving an elegant touch to the interiors, recreating an aura about itself. It also comes with two USB ports and one SD card slot, LINGUATRONIC® voice control system and WLAN hotspot functionality.
The intuitively controlled touchpad with multi-touch sensor system recognizes simple gestures, handwriting and even letters and numbers. The dynamic SUV Coupé comes with Mercedes-Benz Apps, taking connectivity to a whole new level. Mercedes-Benz Apps provides convenient access to a wide range of some of the most popular apps and services on the internet.
Safety & Assistance Systems features include – Active Parking Assist with 360-degree camera including and PARKTRONIC, Adaptive airbags (6 airbags – adaptive airbags and sidebags for driver and front passenger, windowbags between A, B and C-pillars) and PRE-SAFE® system, Crosswind Assist and Attention Assist, Adaptive Highbeam Assist Plus and Adaptive brake lights,
The new Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 AMG Coupé is priced at Rs.86.40 Lakhs (Ex-showroom Mumbai). The Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 AMG Coupé will compete with the likes of BMW X6M Coupé which is priced at Rs. 1.6 crore which is almost twice.
