Maruti Suzuki launched the new Dzire today, confirms 33,000 bookings.
India’s largest car maker Maruti Suzuki introduced the third gen Dzire compact sedan in the Indian market.
Mr. RS Kalsi, Executive Director, Marketing and Sales, confirmed the new Dzire has already received over 33,000 bookings in 10 days since the company opened bookings on 5th May 2017.
The older gen Dzire was selling decent 20,000 units on an average and the company expects higher number from the Dzire as the car is positioned to customers looking for a compact premium entry sedan.
The company will manufacture the Dzire only at Maruti’s Manesar factory, but in future the Suzuki’s factory in Gujarat will also manufacture the Dzire alongside the Baleno and upcoming new Swift.
The new Dzire is based on the HEARTEC platform and is designed to meet the upcoming safety norms.
Maruti Suzuki has introduced the new Dzire between INR 5.45 Lakhs – INR 9.41 Lakhs (ex-showroom).
The compact sedan is available in four trim levels – L, V, Z, Z+, and 14 variants.
The car continues to be powered by the same 1.2-litre four-cylinder VVT petrol engine and 1.3-litre four-cylinder DDiS turbodiesel engine equipped with a 5-speed manual or 5-speed AGS (AMT) transmission. The new generation Dzire delivers high fuel efficiency of 22 km/l (petrol) and 28.4 km/l (diesel) as the car is light weight.
Deliveries of the car begin from today and the vehicle is available in 6 color options.
