Range Rover has launched the all new Range Rover Sport in the Indian market. The second gen Range Rover Sport takes the bar to the next level in terms of performance styling building on the core strengths of Range Rover’s Design DNA.
The new Sport SUV is the first vehicle in its segment to feature an advanced all-aluminium body structure and is based on the new Range Rover platform which is 39% lighter than its predecessor.
Packed with technology and class-leading Land Rover all-terrain capability, the new RR Sport will be a more affordable option. The SUV is offered with two engine variants. The responsive and ultra-efficient 3.0-Litre SDV6 Turbodiesel and the powerful V8 Supercharged Petrol Engine.
The turbodiesel develops 292PS, which is a significant power increase over the previous model (256PS) and 600Nm of torque. While the 5.0-Litre V8 Supercharged Petrol Engine develops 510PS and massive torque of 625 Nm which helps accelerate the car from 0-100 kmph is just 5.3 seconds.
The engines are mated to an 8 speed transmission which can be operated via paddle shifters or the centre console mounted shifter.
The SUV is equipped with lightweight 4 corner air-suspension which delivers class leading wheel travel, which provides exceptional wheel articulation and variable ride height. The Range Rover Sport is engineered to take on all terrains thanks to the Torque Vectoring system, Terrain Response 2 System with Auto Setting, Dynamic Response and Adaptive Dynamics. The first three technologies are offered as part of an optional pack.
The new Range Rover Sport is priced at Rs. 1.09 crores for the 3.0L Diesel SDV6 S variant and Rs. 1.65 crores for the 5.0L V8 SC Petrol Autobiography variant (prices are ex-showroom Mumbai -pre octroi)
