French Automaker Renault showcased the India-made Kwid Extreme Study concept at the ongoing Gaikindo Indonesian International Auto Show 2017 (GIIAS 2017).
With the Kwid Extreme Study, Renault wants to demonstrate the customization options on the hatchback and like the Climber edition may introduce the model in Indonesia with a more toned down version.
The concept showcased at the GIIAS 2017 featured a race inspired body kit which gives the hatchback a distinct appeal.
On the front the car comes with a new front bumper with a radical design with air damps and extensions on the lower end. The bumpers looks a like an aftermarket job with Red flanges and LED fog lamps housed in Square boxes. The grille gets Red highlights which looks good. The projector headlamps with LED DRLs looks great and we hope Renault offers DRLs as an accessory option in the future.
On the side, the car gets Red ORVMs, OZ Racing rims, chequered flag pattern graphics and roof spoiler. The car also gets carbon finish sticker on the front bonnet which is carried over the roof. The rear also gets radical design bumper with similar treatment as the front.
The interiors are not touched and continue to be offered in dark Gray with a large touchscreen at the centre.
The car seems to be based on the 1.0 option as Kwid is sold with a 1.0 SCe Petrol engine in the Indonesian market.
The Kwid hatchback won the Best of Small City Hatchback award at the 2017 Automotive Award. The Renault Kwid was launched in Indonesia in October 2016.
