India has a long standing relationship with British super-luxury car-maker Rolls Royce. The purveyors of luxury and style in the last century in our country were often the members of Indian royalty. The Maharajas of India did it just as good as their counterparts in Europe, splurging on cars to such an extent that 800 Rolls-Royces were delivered to India between 1903 and 1945, some even gilded with fine gold. The name synonymous with the Maharajas of the bygone era is now the preferred choice of wheels among the uber rich Businessmen, Industrialists and Bollywood superstars in India.
Reinforcing its commitment to the Indian luxury segment, Rolls Royce today launched ‘Dawn’, its fourth model in India after the Phantom, Ghost and Wraith. Priced at Rs.6.25 Crore, this chic 4 seater convertible has one of the largest canopies to grace a convertible car – second only to that of RR Phantom Drophead Coupe.
At the launch event, Paul Harris – Asia Pacific Regional Director said, “Dawn is the pinnacle luxury good for India – rare, bespoke and hand-crafted to the usual Rolls-Royce hallmark standard; this will be a car for only a select few.
Dawn’s bold and contemporary design heralds a new chapter in Rolls-Royce’s illustrious history. In many markets we have seen interest from a broad segment of customers who are new to the brand, as well as more established customers.”
Sharad Kachalia, Director, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Mumbai added, “Since Navnit Motors became the authorised Rolls-Royce dealer in 2005, we have seen several changes with the brand. Though the brand has a historic association with old world India, we are now consistently seeing a younger generation of entrepreneurs aspiring to own a Rolls-Royce. With the already strong heritage that the brand has here, we are optimistic about the demand for Dawn. We are proud to partner with Rolls-Royce as we embark on this new journey.”
The Dawn, like every other RR can be configured to the buyer’s taste with a plethora of customisation options. This charismatic car leaves an everlasting impression with its powerful 6.6 litre, V12 twin turbo engine. The cabin conveys all the hallmarks of the brand’s peerless craftsmanship with its grandiose leather, wood and chrome.
Like every new Rolls-Royce, the Dawn is protected by a four year unlimited mileage warranty (excludes tyres and glass). Service and maintenance will be covered by a Rolls-Royce service package for the first four years, regardless of mileage and 24 hour roadside assistance.
The recommended retail pricing for the Dawn is from Rs. 6.25 Crore and it will be presented in other Indian cities such as Chennai and New Delhi also.
