The Kite 5 Sedan could be called Viago or Altigo.
Tata Motors will launch the Kite 5 sedan in India in April 2017. As per our close sources the company has started work on the commercial launch of the vehicle and has started work on marketing, launch and training activities.
The Kite 5 sedan is based on the Tiago and is one of the best looking compact sedan and also won the CII Design Excellence Awards for 2016 for the Four Wheeler – Passenger category.
Tata Motors unveiled the Kite 5 sedan at the 2016 Auto Expo. The sedan which features IMPACT design language and ConnectNext system, promises to stir up the segment in India.
The coupe like silhouette looks very promising and gets many distinguishing features as compared to the Tiago hatchback.
KITE 5 flaunts chrome Humanity Line at the front that extends into the dual chamber headlamps to create the face of the car. The strong shoulder line (Slingshot line) executed around the car highlights the prominent LED Tail Lamps, further accentuates the length of the car.
The KITE 5 is equipped with the first in segment integrated roof spoiler housing the high mounted stop lamp LEDs, providing the car with a coupe like silhouette.The car has been intelligently designed to provide many storage spaces and has one of the largest boot in its segment with 420 litres of space.
The KITE 5 sedan will be powered by the new Revotron 1.2L Petrol and Revotorq 1.05L Diesel engines. Both engines will be available with multi-drive modes – Eco and City.
In terms of safety the car will be equipped with dual airbags for maximum safety in case of a collision, advance 9th generation Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) and Corner Stability Control (CSC) for improved braking efficiency. Electric Power Assisted Steering (EPAS) with Active is also on offer.
The Kite 5 sedan will feature touchscreen system.
The infotainment system comes with a 5” screen with video playback through USB, on screen SMS display, SMS readout & reverse parking display on the screen. 8 speakers, steering mounted controls, intelligently designed maps from MapMyIndia and music app called Juke-Car App (Android OS only) are the other features.
