The Tata Motors Nexon was the most awaited launch for 2017 and the Indian automaker ensured the SUV was priced to take on the rivals head-on.
Tata Motors has rolled out the 10,000th Nexon from the Ranjangaon plant at Pune within 2 months of launch.
The Nexon is the first model from Tata Motors in the compact SUV segment which has seen 23% increase in the last 12 months. The SUV has been a hot topic and also managed to bag over 25,000 bookings since launch.
Till October end 2017 the SUV sold 5,871 units – 4,366 diesel and 1,505 petrol. In the first month 2772 units were sold while in October a total of 3099 units were sold.
The Nexon is powered by a 1.2 litre Revotron petrol engine and a 1.5 litre Revotorq diesel engine. Both engine develop 110 PS of max power and are mated to a 6 speed manual gearbox. The company has been testing the AMT versions and we can certainly expect the launch to happen at Auto Expo 2018.
Targeted at the personal car buyers, the Tata NEXON is the 4th product based on the ‘Impact Design’ philosophy.
Available in four variants – XE, XM, XT, XZ+, the Tata NEXON will come in five exciting colour options – Vermont Red, Moroccan Blue, Seattle Silver, Glasgow Grey and Calgary White and will come with a standard warranty of 75000 kms or 2 years, whichever is earlier.
The compact SUV is packed with features likes Remote key with electric tailgate unlock & approach lamps, passive entry & passive start, reverse camera with dynamic guideways, reverse parking sensors, power adjustable & retractable outside mirrors and automatic climate control with rear air vents.
The Connectnext Infotainment system by HarmanTM comes with a 6.5” floating Dashtop touchscreen and an exclusively tuned 8-speaker system for surround sound effect. New generation of smartphone connectivity, with AndroidTM Auto and a host of smartphone apps to ensure an easy & intuitive vocal interaction with the Infotainment for navigation, music, making calls, reading & replying to text & WhatsappTM messages.
The Nexon rivals the Ford Ecosport and Maruti Vitara Brezza in the Indian market.
