Tata Motors flagged-off the first batch of Nexon compact SUV from its Ranjangaon facility. The new compact SUV is the fourth car in the new generation of passenger vehicles under the IMPACT design philosophy after the Tiago compact hatchback, Hexa premium SUV and Tigor Fastback.
NEXON SUV comes with extremely contemporary styling engineered to deliver excellence with dynamic handling, sporty performance, smart connectivity and comfort along with advanced safety features according to the company.
The compact SUV will be powered two new Powertrains – 1.2L Turbocharged Petrol engine from the Revotron series and the 1.5L Diesel engine from the Revotorq family, paired with a 6-Speed Gearbox.
Both these engines sport the first-in-segment multi drive modes – Eco, City, and Sport.
Tata Motors will soon be despatching the cars to the dealerships across the country in a phased manner and customers will soon be able to get up, close and personal with this all new SUV.
The SUV comes with a ground clearance of 200 mm, dual path suspension, 16” alloy wheels and an electric power assisted steering. In terms of equipment the car will come with a 6.5” touchscreen infotainment system exclusively designed by HarmanTM. with an 8 speakers for surround sound effect, intelligent features such as voice control and command recognition.
The Ranjangaon facility shared with FIAT and also makes the Tata Zest in limited numbers which is based on the X1 platform.
The Nexon SUV will compete with the likes of Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Ford EcoSport and Mahindra TUV 300.
The Tata NEXON is slated for launch during this festive season.
