Mahindra will launch the S101 or XUV 100 as rumoured in the third week of January. The car is snapped completely undisguised during a photoshoot and looks good from the rear quarter end.
The rear end design looks similar to the Beat with a mix and match of the Hyundai Eon and Kwid. The design does look modern but it’s not fresh something like the Tata Zica. Door handles are place on the C-Pillar and rear gets a large spoiler. Tail lamp design looks contemporary and complements the overall rear design.
From the side the car looks like a tall boy design hatchback with interesting design alloy wheels. The car gets bench seats at front with six seating option. Interior design is morden and will get all the gadgetry found on the TUV 300 and other Mahindra models.
The XUV 100 will be powered by new three-cylinder unit.1.2 petrol engine which will produce about 65-70 Ps of max power. Diesel engine will be borrowed from the TUV 300 and will get also get an AMT option.
The S101 or XUV 100 will be the new and first product from Mahindra developed in-house to compete in the compact car segment. The Car will lock horns with Maruti Suzuki Wagon R, Celerio, Hyundai i10, Tata Zica, Bolt, Chevrolet Beat and Renault Kwid.
The XUV 100 will be the most affordable product in Mahindra’s model range and the platform will spawn a family of small cars/crossovers. Launch price could start at Rs. 4 lakhs.
