Japanese two wheeler maker Yamaha Motor India has introduced their third model for the Indian market – The Cygnus Ray-ZR. The scooter was unveiled at the 2016 Auto Expo and is designed in mind focusing on youngsters.
The Cygnus Ray-ZR was developed around the concept of a “Next-Generation Real Boy’s Scooter which adopts the latest trends among young people.
The design is very masculine with a deeply-sculpted and powerful front mask, straight lines, and rear tail designed with with a sense of speed.
The Cygnus Ray-ZR scooter is powered by an air-cooled 4-stroke, SOHC, 2-valve 113cc “BLUE CORE” engine with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) unit. The engine delivers a high mileage of 66 kmpl* (*under standard test conditions).
The boot under the seat has a large storage capacity of 21 litres and can easily accommodate a helmet. The front pocket is large enough to fit one 500 mL plastic drink bottle and also gets cConveniences hook (maximum load capacity of 1.5 kg) for hanging bags, etc.
The scooter comes with Tubeless tyres and A 170 mm diameter disc brake is adopted for the front wheel. The Cygnus Ray-ZR is available in 4 color options – Matt Green, Fizz White, Maverick Blue and Rooster Red.
The Drum brake version is priced at Rs. 52,000 and the disc brake version at Rs. 54,500 ex-showroom Delhi.
