Currently Yamaha Motor India Sales has more than 400 dealerships and over 1200 touch points across India and plans to spread out and increase its customer touch points to 2,500 by 2016. The growing demand for two-wheelers has prompted Yamaha to boost its dealership network in the city.
Elaborating on the approach, Mr. Roy Kurian, Vice President-Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt. Ltd, said “In Delhi and NCR, we have around 30% market share in the deluxe segment. This highlights the importance and potential of the region for us and its implied importance has a strong influence on our overall marketing strategy. Fully equipped with 3S set up (Sales, Service and Spare Parts), Sidharth Auto is all set to offer the best quality service to customers. We have a very strong product line-up that caters to varied customer segments right from women to youth to family. We believe that a strong product portfolio must be supported by a strong distribution system. With the launch of the new dealership we expect it to lead to a proper distribution channel and provision of genuine spare parts and accessories, thereby increasing reliability and customer satisfaction.”
The company, in 2014, launched a series of new products including the Alpha scooter alongside the new versions of its flagship FZ, FZ-S and Fazer version 2.0 motorcycles armed with the next generation ‘Blue Core’ engine concept with fuel injection technology featuring improved performance in all areas, including fuel efficiency, acceleration and environmental friendliness. With these new model introductions the company certainly hopes to further strengthen its foothold in the two-wheeler segment.
